It was a beautiful day out here in Atlanta yesterday and after it rained a few times, I was ready to get out of the house! I was invited out to a luncheon to hear R&B crooner Tank new cd that’s in stores today called, Stronger. I’ve always been a fan of this Milwaukee native. He’s a very talented young man, so I jumped at the opportunity to hear his new music, dine with him and chat. So come inside to read 10 fascinating things I learned about Tank!

Tank real name is Durrell Babbs, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but raised in Washington, D.C. currently resides in Los Angeles.

He knew in 9th grade that he had a great voice after being asked to sing lead at a school assembly. The crowd loved him and he sang a gospel song, You My Star

Tank had a job as a DC tour guide. He would often sing people into taking pamphlets from him lol.

Favorite artists are R. Kelly, Keith Sweat, Baby Face. Tank wishes he had mentors earlier in his careers, he admits he made lots of mistakes in the beginning.

On his new cd Stronger, “Ain’t Nobody” is one of his favorite songs and it’s definitely a riding around song to listen to.

He was once offered a Lamborghini for the song, “I Can’t Make You Love Me” but he turned down the offer, he knew it was going to be a smash hit!

Tank once had a stalker come by his home and cut profanities outlined in his grass. Another one through a brick through his front window with a note attached.

He finds it a bit challenging to sing other writer’s songs since he is also a songwriter. When he does, he has to sing the song hundreds of times till he makes it, his own.

Tank has a daughter that is gifted and very talented in high school, she also sings.

Tank found it very awkward working with the group TGT. The group has broken up now, he said it was a room full of egos but he had fun but would never do it again.
