You want to know why a lot of people wear the same ol thing or won’t change up their style? Here is my proof in the pudding why you don’t hardly catch me wearing separates, slacks, blazers etc because it’s just too complicated! I have fashion fails just like the next person and this is one of them.
This has nothing to do with photographers, bad angles, fashion brands or anything like that, it’s about my personal fashion choices and why I wear, what I wear. Just last week I got so many compliments on my dress that I wore for an interview. Then last night I tried my best to change it up and wear something out of the box and it was a complete fail!
Here is the skinny of it all…
I do NOT look right in pants, they gather and bunch up on my thick legs and thighs! You may say well go up a size but thats an epic fail too!
Button down shirts/blouses on me, make me look boxy and top heavy. I do have big boobs, but dresses slim them down a bit.
Loose fitting fabrics do not work on my body type.
I’m always standing in my closet thinking and wasting time trying to put looks together when separates are involved.
I most of the time look like I have NO waist whatsoever in separate pieces and jumpers.
So there you have it and why you see a lot of fashion bloggers wear the same thing over and over again. You probably sit there reading and wondering, why don’t she switch it up, she should wear this or try that. NO, because it does not work most of the time and every body type is different. I’m not skinny where things would look super cute on me either. I have to be very careful and plan each and every outfit because I’m photographed a lot. Its hard when you’re a curvy gal trying to look fashionable too.
I have tried stylists too and they have pulled for me and they sit there saying… “wow, you’re right, that doesn’t look good on you”. I know me better than anyone lol. Just a lil fashion critique of myself with pictures here, so that you can fully understand why I favor dresses in different patterns, styles and form fitting ones.
Then to make it worse, you don’t actually see what the complete outfit looks like until you wear it out and see the pictures the next day, horrid! I care but not really but wanted you to see what I go thru. At home an outfit might look fine but some things you will pick out, just will NOT photograph well, even with lots of preparation and checking before you take the picture. In most cases when you’re at an event, there are NO mirrors around on the red carpet and things move very quickly!
Anyway, I was gifted this pretty cut-out neon clutch by Jordyns Apparel that will be launching soon, so stayed tuned for that plus I’m wearing a Chic n Curvy liquid leather jumper. People actually loved my jumper at the event, Cynthia Bailey wants one lol. I just personally don’t like it on me. I also wore Just Fab Jerilyn pumps. Currently the jumper is sold out. xoxo
