Atlanta Botanical Gardens - Talking With Tami

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

October 10th, 2010

My friend Christy(Peas for Prosperity) tweeted me to come out to the Botanical Gardens yesterday because they were having some great things going on. She is the guru in recycling and all things healthy living. My friend Lori and I cruised down there to find a lot of people out and about enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

We met Christy and she introduced us to her friend, Megan McCarthy. Megan is a fab healthy lifestyle consultant and chef. She does cooking demos at the outdoor kitchen every saturday and sunday at the Botanical Gardens.

We walked through the gardens and saw Blown Organics: The Glass of Cohn-Stone Studios. The glass pumpkins were too cute and perfect for your garden at home. Their exhibit ends this month. I took pics of fun recycled art work by locals. The pink lady was my favorite!

We then moseyed over to the edible gardens were it was full of vegetables, fruits and herbs and edible flowers. The outdoor kitchen is there for Chefs to create delicious healthy recipes and the crowd can sample fresh from the garden. Chef Megan showed us the wall of herbs and where she prepares her food.

I had a great time at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.  I learned so much about mother nature, how to eat healthier and viewing the gardens. Thanks to Christy, Lori,Megan for a fabulous day in Atlanta! Enjoy the pics!
