Behind-The-Scenes: Fashion Photoshoot With Drexina Nelson #FiestaMovement

This month was all about #Style with my 2014 Ford Fiesta. My mission was to learn about fashion photography and what better person to learn from than, fashion & beauty photographer Drexina Nelson! Come inside to see how I spent yesterday morning with this fabulous and amazing photographer here in Atlanta!

Glam Crew: Brandy(Hair) and Whitney(Makeup)

Me and Fifi(My Ford Fiesta) headed downtown to see Drexina at her huge studio! We decided that I would do a fun fashion shoot, so that I could get the full effect of learning about “fashion photography”. I was happy as a lamb because yall know I love the camera ha! I wore a fun print dress and Drexina had her glam squad waiting, to get me all dolled up! On hair, was my new friend Brandy, and makeup was the cutie pie Whitney! We joked around and I even did a lil dance while we chatted about the industry and more! I loved my look, too fierce!

After makeup and hair, we headed over to the shooting area. Drexina’s work has been featured in numerous amounts of fashion magazines, books and publications! Recently she shot NeNe & Gregg’s wedding and the pictures were all over the internet and in Life & Style magazine! She does phenomenal work, trust me! We got started with the shoot and it was so much fun. She directed me on how to angle my body, look in the camera and smile with my eyes! After the photoshoot, we talked about what it takes to be a good model and to work in the modeling industry.

Here are Drexina’s tips:

Know your lane! Know what you want to do, and what type of model you would like to be. Be realistic!

Study your craft: If there is other models you admire, shadow them or use them as a mentor!

Know your body: What to wear, high fashion, simple looks etc.

Great personality: Your personality needs to shine and project through!
