Christmas at the Reeds

Today I’m thinking back on all the Christmases that we’ve had. I would have to say this years Christmas was so so. With the economy being the way it is, layoffs, cutbacks,it has really affected my whole family too. There was not a lot of gifts for my kids sent down and they were a bit disappointed. The older my kids get I try to explain to them that its about family and being together. Its also about helping someone else in need and celebrating Jesus Christ.

We had a nice candlelight dinner, opened gifts, laughed and watched movies together. It did snow a bit and my kids ran out to play in it lol. We would have liked to travel to see the family but I do not like cold weather and usually visit in the spring time or summer. We missed them all.

My kids are at that tween age now, so they had expensive items on their list. Ipads, Ps3 games (whatever the heck that is) and laptops which we could not afford at this time. We bought what we could and they were happy. The kids later came to us and said, mom and dad we love you and thank you for everything you have done for us. Keeping us in a safe environment, food in the fridge and the lights on is all that matters. That was nice to hear from them. I hope you guys had a very Merry Christmas, we surely did because really its all about family! xoxo
