Dry Bar Opens in Buckhead - Talking With Tami

Dry Bar Opens in Buckhead

November 8th, 2011

I have been online looking and checking to see when this new fancy salon Dry Bar was going to open in Atlanta. I first heard about it from reading it somewhere then I called the salon to see when it actually was going to be open for business. A few months later and I got word that it was going to be a grand opening and I made my way down to Buckhead.

Dry Bar was EVERYTHING I thought it was going to be and more! When I walked in a few weeks ago, the friendly staff greeted me and said that the owner would be right out. I was taken back for a second because I didn’t know founder Alli Webb was in town! I was psyched as she came out to say hello. She lives in Brentwood,Ca and came in town for the opening. I’ve seen pictures of her but she was cute as a button in person! She shared with me that this posh location is her 11th location. She was a hair stylist for 15 years but we all know how that story goes. Once you get married and have kids, its tough to work and raise your family. I had a nail salon for years but the same scenario happened to me. Alli then was a stay at home mom for awhile then started back doing hair part time by having a mobile service to get out the house. She later discussed a business idea with her brother, who later became her partner because he was more business savvy. Later they created Dry Bar.

When you walk in the environment it is very bubbly. You can get a blow out for $35, no matter how long or curly your hair is. Webb said she knows she can charge more but she wanted to it to be affordable. She plans on opening two more by the end of the year! Her hubby is also in on it and is the creative director. He came up with the look and feel of the place. They also do ethnic hair and I even saw an african american hairstylists. That is so important and glad they were sensitive to others needs. I loved the shabby chic space with bright pops of yellow, very Rachel Ashwell. The yellow blowdryer light fixtures were uber cute! I felt very happy in the salon and the customers seemed to be having a great experience. You have to go check it out and see how cool this place is! Thanks to Abby for taking the time out to chat with me and good luck to you guys! xoxo
