Feel Good Friday: Balmain X Barbie Collaboration

How cute is this! Balmain and Barbie are teaming up for a hot new fashion collaboration! Are you willing to wear Barbie-inspired looks from the famous French house? I think we all agree, hell yes!

Creative Director Olivier Rousteing has created a genderless collection for adults, inspired by Barbie and Ken, that speaks not only to their tastes, but also to Rousteing’s childhood memories and hopes for the futures. “It’s not only the dream of a designer, it’s a dream of a kid, you know?” he says, adding that as a kid he was told not to play with the dolls. “That I can create a collection with Barbie today shows how the world has changed, and how good it feels to be free with yourself without being judged.”

There will be 50 limited-edition pieces of dresses, sweats and handbags and a few dolls if you can get your hands on one that are going to be auctioned off. Some of the designs are said to be in the shade of bubble gum pink with huge shoulder pads, couture pieces and accessories. I’ve already seen some lovely pink ski boots that I am totally obsessing over and you guys know I am a Barbie collector, so I am gagging right now! The collection will be available worldwide on January 13th and a special pop up shop in Dallas at Neiman Marcus from January 13-30th. The prices will range from $295 to $42,494. See a few images from the collection inside, this makes a great Feel Good Friday!
