Five Things I Learned About Being A Forensic Investigator On Set With NBC’s Chicago P.D. Cast

Hey guys, I wanted to share with you my fun experience I had yesterday with NBC while in Chicago. I was there for the fifth anniversary celebrating all three highly rated tv shows, Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire and Chicago Med. It was such a fun experience and like always, we got to learn something new. They always keep it fresh and this year we got to work along side of some of the actors from all three shows. We got to solve a crime scene, work on saving a life in a fire and in the emergency room! I really and truly respect first responders and people that save lives everyday. Come inside for a few snaps and see what I got to do on the set of Chicago P.D….

Here I am with Actor LeRoyce Hawkins, he plays Officer Kevin Atwater

Marina Squerciati and LaRoyce

I got to be a Forensic Investigator that works alongside police officers to help solve crimes. Their role is to locate, collect and preserve and catalogue evidence from a crime scene. I collected fingerprints at the crime scene using scientific techniques, so much fun.

Everyone is so involved with solving this horrendous crime!

About the show:

From multiple Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf and the team behind the hit series “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.” is a riveting police drama about the men and women of the Chicago Police Department’s elite Intelligence Unit, combatting the city’s most heinous offenses – organized crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond.

At the center of “Chicago P.D.” is Det. Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), who is at ground zero against the war on crime in Chicago. He will do anything to bring criminals to justice.

Handpicked as the head of the unit, Voight has assembled a team of diverse detectives who share his passion and commitment to keeping the city safe. They include Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), a brash young detective who previously saw active military duty in Afghanistan; Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), who has proven herself valuable to the team after being brought up from patrol on several past cases; Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), a quick-witted cadet plucked from the police academy; Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), a charismatic patrolman who was brought upstairs; and Det. Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), the newest member of the team with killer instincts, humor and smarts. After going head-to-head with Voight, the two find a mutual respect for one another and see the value in working together.

Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) runs a tight precinct with tough love, although she lets her softer, more vulnerable side shine through from time to time.

In addition to Wolf, executive producers include Rick Eid, Peter Jankowski, Derek Haas, Arthur Forney and Eriq La Salle.

“Chicago P.D.” is produced by Wolf Films in association with Universal Television.

Chicago P.D. premieres Wednesday, Oct 25, 2019 (10-11 pm ET) on NBC
