From my inbox, what to wear?

This is a new thing I’m trying out and thought it would be a great asset to my blog. I get tons of emails and although I can’t answer every single one of them, I do find some that I would like to share with my readers. I really appreciate each and every one of you stopping by and taking the time out to read my randomness, events, celeb stuff, fashion and my obsession with pretty pink girly things lol. Well, today I got a pretty good email from a friend on facebook. Here is the q/a hope you enjoy!

Question:

“I need some help. I am so clueless when it comes to fashion and name brands. I have a very high profile meeting here in Atlanta next week and need to have some labels on me (clothes, purse, shoes). The people in the meeting will be definitely looking at me and will notice if I am not carrying a brand name bag or shoes (I will fill you in later)

This is where you come in- please tell me what brands are ladies wearing or carrying? (please dont laugh too hard… I know, I am embarrassed to even ask).

I really dont want to spend too much, so the Minolos are out. Please help!!!

Thanks a bunch!!! and Hugs!!!”

My response:

When I got this email It really peaked my interest because I know I have the same issue when trying to cover events and more. People may think, wow she has the life and she gets to do this and that. It’s really hard to try to find something to wear for events that are sometimes 5 times a week. It’s not that fun people! I’ve always shared that I am a thrifty shopper and that I shop very frugally. Well when this young lady asked me this question, I told her that If It was me, I would hire a stylist to pull things for her. When you hire a stylist, it would be cheaper than paying for a complete look. You can just pay a stylist and return it or just pay for what you really liked, easy breezy! Most stylist have a large selection to choose from at their place. You pay a rental fee and your all done. I also referred  her to 3 great stylist that I know in the area.

Shun and Monica

First up, I suggested celebrity stylist Shun Melson who owns Creative Solutionz llc. She currently is working with singer Monica, who has a new album out called, Still Standing! Shun has worked with all sorts of celebrities and her signature tada bow is the business!

I also suggested Leah Taylor at Taylor- Ector Studios. She has styled me, Lala Vasquez, Sheree Whitfield, Lisa Wu Hartwell and a host of others. She has a fab studio and loves vintage style, we got along so well.

Lastly, I suggested my girl Kim Maxwell. She has been a stylist for a long time and she has a great vision. She also is an author of a book called, Career Diary of a fashion stylist. She has styled Jagged Edge, The Dream and Rickey Smiley.

The Dream

So keep your questions coming, I just might feature you on my blog and give you advice if I can on how I am making it in this crazy entertainment business! Have a great week!
