High Tea At St. Regis Atlanta

I always wanted to attend a high tea held inside the lovely St. Regis Atlanta’s Astor Court. I’m a lover of tea and I’ve heard good things about the atmosphere and savory bites. I invited my daughter Tyra and my grandson Legend to tag along and they had a great time! The hotel is stunning and a pretty backdrop for great photos and conversation.

My reservations were for Sunday, March 7th at 3:30pm. Once we arrived, we valet the car and headed upstairs where we were seated quickly. For tea, there is a set menu that includes a “classic menu” of savory petite sandwiches, baked scones, pastries and petit fours.

Legend had a ball seeing everything and gazed out the huge bay window looking at all the action going on outside lol. They have lots of places inside for wonderful photo opts too. We really did enjoy the experience and plan on heading back very soon. Check out a few snaps inside…

Named after Colonel John Jacob Astor IV, the visionary who founded St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, Astor Court is one of the signature restaurants in The St. Regis Atlanta. A modern expression of our legendary heritage, Astor Court embodies all that St. Regis represents, including a dedication to discreet, anticipatory service and elegant design. Open daily for breakfast and lunch, as well as brunch on the weekends, Astor Court plays host to a refined Afternoon Tea on Saturdays and Sundays.Overlooking our magnificent hotel lobby and sparkling crystal chandelier, Astor Court is a welcoming and warm space decorated in rich persimmon and flaxen hues. Bespoke furnishings and exquisite art add to the residential feel of Astor Court, imparting the notion that guests are in a grand, private estate. Natural light filters through tailored silk drapery as vibrant potted greenery lends to a refined ambiance reminiscent of a stately European conservatory.

Fun Fact:

Anna, Duchess of Bedford, is credited with inventing the Afternoon Tea Party. Like many of her friends, she enjoyed a cup of tea and a slice of bread and butter to starve off hunger between luncheon and dinner. She would invite her friends to join her at tea and soon 4 p.m. became the time to gather, sip tea, and gossip! Gossip being so high on the agenda that US Etiquette Queen, Emily Post, decreed that servants should only enter a tea party when summoned!
