When I say a mini-trip, I’m talking no more than 3 to 4 days. I think I have become very good at packing at least 10 outfits for that short amount of time. Why don’t you join me in learning how to be part of the “carry-on club” lol. I have a friend that was on a press trip with me recently and he had two huge luggage pieces and paid a lot of money for that. We were only in town for 2 days mind you! I said, “I need to teach you how to pack, this is ridiculous!” He said he liked to have “options” when he is out of town I then said, “you can have options but it’s how you pack it all!” I think I have become a pro-packer and have some fun tips to share with you.

Here I’m using the LeSportsac 18″ 4 wheeled luggage in the color Aberdeen stripe. It retails for $250.00 I also have the 24″ for more items and use that when I have road trips. This retails for $300. I really like LeSportsac luggage, it’s very sturdy and all the zipper compartments, four wheel rolling system, retractable handle, side handles make my travel so much easier! Now let’s get into how you should pack…

Packing total looks: Think of what you want to wear and put the complete look together, have a theme. Night look, touring look, dinner look. I always pack a pair of black leggings, cardigan, scarf and tshirt too.

Using your shoes for storage: I only pack 2 pair of shoes. One heel, one flat and I usually wear tennis shoes while traveling. I also use these puppies to store extra accessories, hairbrushes, sunglasses and whatever else you can shove in them, it saves lots of space too, especially if you pack a boot!

Wrinkle free clothing: I always pack jersey type fabric clothing that will unpack nicely and I can put them on and go! Dresses, jumpsuits and skirts work best!

Military roll method: When packing, roll all your clothing items one by one. Plus your clothing stays wrinkle free! You can get a lot more packed in your luggage if you use this method. Think of how they roll a burrito at your local Chipotle restaurant!

Beauty essentials: Do not pack your whole vanity tray! Pack moisturizer, sample size perfume, travel size hairspray, wipes, 2 lipsticks, one blush, mascara, 1 eyeshadow palette, polish and a few makeup brushes.

I hope I gave you a few good tips and also how to save money when traveling! Till next time! xoxo
