MOANA In Dolby Cinema at AMC & My Review

moana

I had the chance to go check out the new movie Moana at a Dolby Cinema at AMC yesterday afternoon and boy did I have a nice time! It was my first time visiting Morrow, Ga to see a movie but I will be back because I really enjoyed the theater. The staff was accommodating, they had great concessions and the recliner chairs inside the movie theater were really cool. If you live in Atlanta or plan on visiting, you have to check out this Dolby Cinema theater, you will love it!

Loved the recliner seats in the Dolby Cinema! Very state of the art, that also vibrated during action scenes!

My Review: I must say that this was REALLY a great film! I’m not too fond of animations but this really peeked my interest. From the vibrant colors, the storyline, the funny characters and the lead Moana, I have to tell yah that I was really amazed. After getting into the movie, the character Gramma Tala reminded me so much of my own grandma NuNu who has since passed on. Her fun and spunky personality was just like Moana’s grandma. She really loved her and really listened to her words of wisdom. Moana’s parents smothered her so much and wanted to protect her from the unknown but Grandma Tala insisted that she live her life to the fullest and to be adventurous. My grandma NuNu was the exact same way, she encouraged me to be all that I can be and to never take any crap from anyone. I really miss the conversations with my grandma, she was a fire cracker lol.

Moana cinematography is brilliantly done, you will love all the pretty colors that’s used throughout the film. I also really liked Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s character “Maui“, with his smart mouth, quick whit and bold persona lol. He definitely steals all the scenes he’s in lol. Maui looked after Moana and scolded her when she was being extra dramatic and spoiled. They both went off to sail on a daring mission to save her people. Their voyage had many challenges but ofcourse in Disney fashion, they overcame a lot of adversities. I didn’t really find any of the songs in the movie to be really catchy hence Frozen’s “Let It Go” but there was still pretty heartfelt tunes you will enjoy. I recommend you take your family to see this movie, it might not resonate too well with children under 3 years old but for kindergarten age and up, they should follow along just fine. If you do go out to see this, you will not regret it. Moana is in theaters now!
