I feel a certain kinda way about writing this fashion post on Mingle Monday but here goes! I got all dressed up to head to a Mother’s Day hat brunch on Saturday morning. I do not have a new car with all the bells and whistles,GPS, OnStar and all that jazz. So I wrote down my directions as I normally do when I don’t know the venue or area. I get off the exit,turned down the first street and bam a dead end! I called frantically to my friend and to the lady giving the event. Earlier that morning, in the back of my mind I felt like something was going to go wrong with this event and I don’t know why! It was a dreary cloudy day and it rained off and on. I really didn’t feel like going but I went anyway.

I picked out a cute pink silk dress with flowers from TjMaxx, paired it with pearls,a vintage hat and silk rose I pinned on it. I also wore my pink rhinestoned heeled shoes from Betsey Johnson. My kids complemented me and I was on way! On my way to nowhere fast lol! Nothing like getting all dressed up,putting on makeup,doing your hair and you have to turn around and head back home! The lady who was helping with the event couldn’t guide me there, they kept passing the phone on to other people that told me more than one time, “make a u turn, go this way,turn around,you’re right around the corner!” Well after riding around and burning my gas, 30 more minutes later, I said “thank you, never mind” and headed home! I find it funny that everyone else made it there but for some reason they couldn’t tell me how to get there lol. I guess it was NOT meant for me to go! I was furious and now that made me realize that this year in 2012, I will be cutting back on even MORE event coverage and only going to places that I KNOW where it is and that is that! xoxo
