My Day Trip To Athens, Ga In The New Chevrolet Silverado Centennial Edition

Yesterday afternoon I did a day trip in the new Chevrolet Silverado Centennial Edition. Chevrolet is celebrating 100 years of Chevy trucks and wanted to collaborate with me highlighting their special edition Silverado and I happily obliged! A lil back story to tell yah too, when I was in high school, I dreamed of owning a custom pink pick up truck lol. That never happened and it was not really practical for me at the time but it did bring back memories and it felt good to actually get behind the wheel of this amazing vehicle now!

Where did I go in the Silverado? Well, I called up my blogger buddy Jennifer Jones and we headed to Athens, Ga! I had only been there once before and wanted to explore this historical city a lil bit further. We pulled into downtown Athens, had lunch at a yummy historical restaurant then we ventured off to a serene Botanical Garden, it was lovely. Check out all the fun photos inside and if you love this Silverado as much as I do, find out more info at Chevrolet, I get to enjoy this truck for a few more days and so far I am LOVING it!

Me and Jen ready to go, she was smiling so hard when I pulled up in this massive truck lol!

We made it to Athens, Ga with such ease! It was a straight shot to get there and it felt good knowing that the car is equipped with the most modern technology like OnStar 4G LTE and Wi-Fi hotspot! It drives really well and has a lot of tork to it! Although it’s a huge truck, the visibility was great and I could handle it well. The leather seats were extremely comfortable and I could see even taking this truck on a long road trip with my family!

First stop was lunch at Last Resort Grill in downtown Athens, Ga located at 174-184 W Clayton St. Athens, Ga 30601. They specialize in contemporary southern cooking in the former space of an iconic music club graced with local artwork. I really enjoyed my lunch!

Black Bean Soup, yum! It’s their own hearty variety simmered with fresh herbs & spices & drizzled with cilantro cream.

I dined on a scrumptious Meatloaf Patty Melt… bacon filled… ultimate comfort dish… grilled & served on local bread with caramelized onions, melted monterey jack & chipotle remoulade with a house salad.

Jen had a Fried Green Tomato sandwich, beer-battered & dusted with cornmeal, then pan fried, topped with crispy bacon, grilled onions & our vidalia bacon dressing with house salad.

We loved exploring Athens, Ga the trees and atmosphere was so beautiful, we stopped to get a shot of this Fall scene!

Next stop was the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia, this place was serene with all the gardens, flowers and scenery! I really enjoyed being here, I got to relax and reflect! Botanical Garden is located at 2450 S. Milledge Ave, Athens, Ga 30609

All decorated for the holidays!

Cattleya flowers, so pretty

ABOUT THE CENTENNIAL EDITION SILVERADO

Created to commemorate 100 years of Chevy trucks and the 85 million Chevy trucks sold over the years, Chevrolet introduced a special edition vehicle ― a Centennial Edition Silverado. Features include a distinctive blue paint color, exclusive heritage bowtie emblems and 100 year badges inspired by color and design cues found on early Chevy truck models.

The unique Centennial Edition bowtie is a tribute to early designs of the Chevrolet logos. The chrome, the lettering and the unique blue color each represent pieces of Chevrolet truck history. The bowtie specifically draws inspiration from the 1918 Chevrolet Series D, 1926 Superior Series D and the 1936 Suburban Canopy Express.

Chevy’s first recorded trucks were developed in early 1917, built to serve workers at Chevrolet manufacturing plants. Chevy introduced its first production truck available for customers to purchase in January 1918. This included a half-ton model and a one-ton model. Both were offered with an open chassis behind the windshield, allowing the customer to make the body choice that best fit their vocation.

The Silverado Centennial Edition is available on the LTZ Z71 crew cab and is now available at dealerships.
