My Style: Chic & Curvy Zig Zag Print Wrap Dress

my style

I had someone email me asking if I could give a bit more styling tips from my stylist Jon. Well, I interviewed him a few weeks ago so I’m just waiting to get a few of his questions answered then I will post it soon. Until then, I wanted to talk about how to wear a simple wrap dress. I had this dress from Chic & Curvy since last year. I took it to my seamstress because it was a bit too long for me. Guess what though, I forgot all about it and it stayed there for a few months lol. I normally don’t do such a thing but it wasn’t really a priority to pick it up and I knew it was in a safe place.

When I was invited out to interview singer Tyrese yesterday afternoon, that’s when I realized that I didn’t have nothing to wear that was simple, casual and cute. Then I remembered I had this wrap dress at my seamstress. I picked it up, then zoomed down to Jon’s place where he worked his magic. Once he styled me I said, “its so funny how you can take a simple wrap dress and transform it into something else”. He responded, “that’s why they pay me” and smiled. He’s such a talent but I watched him play with the belt, twisting and turning it and I loved how it came out. One of the major keys to looking “snatched” in a dress is to wear the proper undergarments first, you just can NOT avoid this ladies!

I’m wearing a high-waist panty Spanx underneath my dress and also their bra-llelujah line. Jon takes my bra straps and pulls them really firmly and makes sure my Spanx is pulled all the way up(almost touching my breast). It makes a total difference as you can see.
