New Reality Show: Bring It

BringIt-500

I checked out this new reality show On Demand yesterday called, Bring It on Lifetime. Have you guys seen it? I took dance when I was young and I was a cheerleader for four years. It was so many things wrong with the way that coach Dianna Williams taught the girls how to dance, I was staring at my tv like really girl??? I reached out to a lot of dance coaches and asked them did they watch this show. They all were like, that’s not competitive dance that we learned and taught lol.

On the show, Dianna affectionately known as “Miss D” has a iron fist but loves her “Dancing Dolls” to death. She has a huge dance school in Jackson, Mississippi called, Dollhouse Dance Factory where lots of girls attend. That’s where I stopped and stared because after watching their routines and dance numbers, it was nothing but bumping, grinding and “bucking” as she likes to call it. I know I’m ol’ school but I wish I would sign my child up for her classes, even if they won numerous awards lol. If you watch the show, most of the competitions take place in a high school gym and its only 2 or 3 competitors lol. Where do they do that? I guess she would win all those trophies. I don’t get it and maybe thats what goes down in Mississippi but I do know that they would be laughed out of town in a “real dance competition”.  The 35-year-old also talks about redeeming herself after having a stint in the porn industry and how she wants to help young girls now, thats a good thing and I’m happy she is doing something constructive with her life now. She is married with a young son, a Baptist Christian and said her faith and passion for dancing eventually brought her through that chapter in her life. You have to check it out, Bring It airs Wednesdays at 10/9 CST on Lifetime. xoxo

BringIt

Founded in 2001 by Dianna Williams, or “Miss D,” the Dancing Dolls of Jackson, Mississippi, are one of the country’s preeminent dance troupes, with over 15 Grand Champion titles and more than 100 trophies under their belt. With their adorable smiles and unique high-energy dance style, the Dolls, ages seven to 17, have taken the world of hip-hop majorette competition by storm. Each episode follows the top Dolls and their dedicated moms as they prepare for cutthroat competitions, parades and showcases, culminating in nail-biting stand-battles against their biggest rivals. Miss D has a well-earned reputation for being both a fierce competitor and a phenomenal mentor who teaches her students the importance of a good education, persistence and positive selfworth. As they compete against dance troupes in Mississippi and Tennessee, Miss D pushes her team to the limit, demanding that they “bring it” each and every week.

“Bring It!” is produced by Pilgrim Studios. Executive producers for Pilgrim are Craig Piligian and Derek W. Wan. Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and Colleen Conway Grogan executive produce the series for Lifetime. Eight one-hour episodes of the series have been ordered for this season.
