After blogging about one of my fav makeup artist online yesterday, I put in an email to YouTube Star and makeup artist Makeup Shayla for a little one on one interview! Come inside to see what she had to say about being a makeup artists, favorite brands she likes to work with and so much more!
Where did the love of makeup come from?
When I changed my major from Art to communication, I started to do makeup as an outlet for my creativity and I fell in love.
What are your favorite beauty brands to work with and why?
I love working with MAC, NARS, Kevyn Aucoin, and Makeup Forever, just to name a few. I love these brands because they are high pigment and hi quality.
What’s your favorite beauty trend right now?
LASHES! I love that lashes are a must have for everyone. I find that super star celebrities to stay at home moms love the Lash trend. I can’t leave my house without false lashes.
Do you plan on being a professional makeup artist? If so, who’s face would you like to beat?
Although every day is a learning experience, I do consider myself a professional makeup artist. I would love to go on tour with an entertainer/singer like Ciara or Beyonce.
What’s next for you?
I have thoughts of creating my own lipstick line. Being a makeup artist is truly my passion and I just can’t wait to see what the future holds.
