Hey guys, so now we all know my buddy and fashion designer Reco Chapple made Kandi Burruss’s wedding gown. Mums was the word around here. See, some of us bloggers do know how to keep a secret, ha! I knew this for weeks but I kept my promise but it was killing me lol. I conducted a lil one on one interview with Reco to find out all the deets as to how he got the gig to if Kandi was a nervous bride! Come inside to find out all the details on her gown, the shade and more!

First thing that I noticed was that it was a Coming To America movie theme! Kandi wanted to pay homage to Africa because this is where her and Todd met. Guests were ask to wear a hint of purple, that must be Kandi or Todd’s fav color. Singer Monica, Porsha Williams, Cynthia Bailey, Keshia Knight Pulliam were among some of the attendees. NO word if Kenya Moore was there. Tigers in cages greeted you as you made your way inside, ok girl! Reco also designed the bridesmaid gowns. All seven bridesmaids wore different styles of white gowns, cute like NeNe did at her wedding. I loved her cake but I will keep my comments to myself as to what I think about the gown but I will say that it all needed to be edited a bit! The tiara, necklace, hair and bouquet of flowers were doing a lot to me!  Reco said to me that I had to be there because it looked very nice in person, ok I will take your word for it and I know for tv, it has to be over the top but hmm?

How did you feel when you learned that you were going to be the designer of Kandi’s dress?

Actually at first I was a bit mad because people in her camp did not want me to make it. Kandi explained that she was comfortable with working with me. She decided to go with me as the designer and I was honored!

What materials did you use to make Kandi’s dress?

We used a power mesh nude illusion material for the foundation which came from NYC. The ostrich feathers were flown in from China and the Swarovski crystals were flown in from India. She didn’t wear a veil but her tiara was custom made from Kelvin Russell.

How long did it take you to make Kandi’s dress?

We worked on Kandi’s gown morning, noon and night! Sun up, till sun down! It took a lil over a week and a half. The Swarovski crystals were hand woven into the dress and was full of intricate details. We also made all 7 bridesmaid dresses as well.

What kind of shoes did she wear to accent the dress? She wore Christian Louboutin Body Strass crystal-studded transparent stilettos that were worth $1,195. They were dope as heck!

Was Kandi a nervous bride?

No, not at all! She was calm and I was still doing the final details on her and the bridesmaids dresses backstage. The wedding was lovely!

Sidenote: Kandi will also have a spin-off show on Bravo called, Kandi’s Wedding Produced by True Entertainment with Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin and Carlos King serving as Executive Producers. Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker also serve as Executive Producers. I hear that its going to be full of drama and lots of bickering and yes Todd’s mom and Mama Joyce do get into it! Also, I hear that singer Fantasia was a bridesmaid and had a bit too much to drink! She gave a toast to the newly wed couple filled with F bombs and other explicit words wow, really? They say Todd was furious and I’m sure Bravo cameras were rolling to catch that! Fantasia keeps it real hood huh? Ok bye! Can’t wait to watch! xoxo
