Pinktastic Saturday: Wanda Grace Bib Dress

September 13th, 2014

I almost forgot to post this Pinkerrific outfit that was custom-made for me from designer Wanda Grace. I have a million pictures that I’m trying to sort through but I then thought about it and said, “oh my, I forgot to post this!” I really loved this bib dress, the color and the shape of it. It was perfect for the warm weather in New York City. Wanda Grace has designed a few other pieces for me as well and she does such a great job! I went to several events in this dress and taped a behind-the-scenes segment for Spice Tv/Africa in it. Everyone loved it and it fit my curves just right! This dress makes for a awesome Pinktastic SaturdayRead the rest of this entry »

Best Looks: Desigual Spring 2015

September 13th, 2014

If you like prints like me with LOTS of flowers and tropical looks then you will love the runway show from Desigual‘s Spring fashion show! I was very happy when I received a very bright yellow invitation in the mail from the fashion brand, it made me smile for sure and I knew that this would be a fun show! This was my very first show I attended when I landed in NYC for fashion week. Desigual did not let me down. Before the catwalk, I got a chance to head backstage and check out the hair & makeup but guess who was sitting there?

Non-other than supermodel Adriana Lima! She was so pretty in person, I couldn’t believe I was standing right next to her! Check out Desiguals Spring 2015 Collection, it’s uber cute with jumpers, short sets, skirts, dresses, fun blouses and more! In our seats were a lil keepsake and I received a pretty printed scarf, I’ve been wearing it everyday because it feels so good on my skin! Thanks Desigual! xoxo Read the rest of this entry »

Backstage Access: M.A.C. Makeup Spring 2015 #NYFW

September 12th, 2014

I was invited backstage by M.A.C. cosmetics, (one of my favorite makeup brands) to check out a few makeup looks for designer’s runway shows! I love heading backstage so much and having the opportunity to interview the lead makeup artists is always exciting and meeting the models as well. I did notice that for Spring 2015, the makeup was very minimal. Over and over again lead makeup artists said the word “clean” meaning natural looks. Very simple eyes and lips. The really focused on the eyebrow too. They used a lot of nude lip glosses, clear and pale eyeshadows and on the nails, clear polish or neutral shades were applied. Hair was very straight, so look out for that for Spring. Some other designers did show models on the catwalk with beachy-wavy tossed hair too which was hot for this summer. Check out my behind-the-scene shots and thanks to M.A.C. for the personal invitations!  Read the rest of this entry »
