Pinky Review: Disney ‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’

alice through the looking glass

I had a long chat with my daughter last night about friendship. She seems to have an awful time finding out who is really her true friends. As a mom that loves my kids to pieces, I try to guide them in the right direction and give them key advice, even if they want to hear it or not lol. Most times my daughter comes to me for advice or to share with me some of the heartaches and experiences she has been going through. I tell her often “this to shall pass”. As a young girl, she is going to have many trials and tribulations in life. There is not much I can do and she is going to have to go through some things on her own. I shared with her that she will find maybe a few “genuine” friends that she can love and trust but on the other hand, sometimes things just will not work out and relationships will often end with hurt feelings and disappointment. Its called, life…

When I was out in Hollywood a few days ago, I saw an advance screening of Disney Alice Through The Looking Glass, it was such an amazing and creative film! I drew to this particular movie, not only because of all the amazing costume designs but because of the storyline of Alice. Since day one, she has always been a curious and courageous soul, who is willing to take chances, face her fears and she’s has an attitude where she doesn’t really care what others think about her. She is a true LEADER, heroine and exudes confidence! She waits for noone to tell her what to do and she takes charge in many situations that you will see throughout the film. I’ve always liked to think that I am the same way and I’ve reared my children to take on those same characteristics.

I think that there are many similarities in how Alice’s personality is, compared to my daughter Dootie. She has always been a true leader, people have always challenged her but she has always been a brave soul and moved passed the negativity. Dootie also is full of confidence and she’s pretty much fearless, I think that I’ve helped instill those behaviors in her. If you have a daughter or female in your family that needs a boost of confidence, take them to see this film, Alice is a great role model for young girls, I must say. She’s a person that doesn’t live in fear and it’s so refreshing to see a woman on screen taking charge and in a leadership role. Disney Alice Through The Looking Glass is in theaters now, its a must-see!

Hoping to save his loved ones, Alice steals the Chronosphere from Time (Sacha Baron Cohen) to travel into the past.
