PinupGirl Clothing Photoshoot in Atlanta

Rebecca,Laura,Me and Sarah

If you know me you know I have a wicked sexy side that LOVES anything pinup. I found out about PinupGirlClothing back in the summer time and emailed them about their clothing. I then met the owner of the company, Laura Byrnes. Since I loved her dresses she sent me a few pieces to wear on the red carpets. Laura lives in Los Angeles and  told me that she would be visiting Atlanta real soon and would love for me to model for her website. I was so excited and today I got to meet her and one of her staff members.

Micheline and I, loved my makeup!

It was a beautiful day for a shoot and I was ready to get started. I met them downtown at a chic hotel and Laura introduced me to Micheline. Micheline looked very familiar to me. As she got started on my makeup and hair she told me she was native of Atlanta and was on season 8 of America’s Next Top Model as the first tattoo model. I was so excited to meet someone from that show! She loves doing makeup and she also models and does project management for the company as well. She’s very talented in the makeup and hair area because she really glammed me up!  She also taught me how to apply 2 different styles of eyelashes to really make my eyes pop! We talked about skin tones and makeup application, she was mad cool.

Laura set up the lights so we could get started with the shoot and we chatted about how she launched her business. She has always loved pinup and photography, so one day she decided to combine both and start her business. She had a relative teach her a few tricks on the sewing machine, then she started making her own dress patterns. At first it was a small company but then it started to grow rapidly, so she had to hire more help. All of PinupGirlClothing is made right here in the United States. Another cool thing I learned was Dita Von Teese recently wore one of PinUpGirl Clothing dresses from a recent trip to Australia! I had given Laura the contact so that she could see if she would like her things and she did! Dita Von Teese sent her back a hand written letter thanking her for the dress, wow! She is such a lady!

Laura taught me a lot about pinup style and the 50’s. Did you know that most women back then wore mid length hair? When a girl became a mature woman, they would cut their hair to shoulder length or higher. By my hair being passed my shoulders they pinned my hair up to get that 50’s bouffant look. Back then they also only had 4 or 5 shades of red lipstick for women to choose from, wow! I learned how to place my hands and feet and not smile so much. If you notice in pics in the 50’s they had a very suttle smile. Dita Von Teese is a master of that. It was really a learning experience today and so glamourous and fun!

Laura and I

My shoot went very well and I did 3 looks. We walked over to Centennial Park where we shot by the water, lots of people loved my dresses! I modeled PinupGirlClothings size 12/14. A lil later 2 more models came Sarah Blankman and Rebecca Crawford who are burlesque dancers for Dames Aflame. They were so pretty and posed in coats like the Laura Byrnes black label faux fur and a leopard swing coat that comes out soon. I loved all the dresses they modeled as well, very sexy and fun. When the final selections of pics are done, I will post. Until then enjoy these behind the scene shots( I have more on facebook). Thanks so much Laura and Micheline I had a great time! xoxo
