My Red Carpet Experience At Disney’s ‘Queen Of Katwe’ Hollywood Premiere

Earlier this week, I was invited out to Los Angeles by Disney for a press junket for the upcoming film Queen of Katwe! I was too excited to go, so I got to planning out my wardrobe and what I was going to wear each day. I wanted to stay as authentic to the African made film as possible, so I called up a few of my favorite designers to discuss my look for the red carpet premiere. I had a few stumbles along the way but narrowed it down to this pretty cocktail dress. I loved the colors and thought it would be perfect to wear.

So the day of the premiere, I was filled with excitement because I knew that lots of A-list celebrities would be walking the carpet, I couldn’t wait to see what was in store. Once all of of Disney bloggers arrived to the venue, it was packed! We snapped photos, mingled with the guests, chatted with the producers, directors, cast and more. It was so much fun seeing all the African print outfits, the big cameras and I even spotted Actors Lupita Nyong’o, David Oyelowo speaking to all the press! I just so happened to be standing in the right place when David walked by me and I said hello. He stopped and said hello back and that’s when we snapped a cute selfie together, he was super nice.
