As you guys know, I have been down here all week for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week/Swim in Miami. One of the most anticipated shows was to see socialite,actress and entrepreneur Vanessa Simmons custom made swimwear line “Rose by Vanessa Jean“. At the posh Raleigh Hotel in the Penthouse suite, hundreds of fashionistas crowded the hotel lobby at 11pm last night to try to squeeze and push their way up the elevator to the 8th floor to check out the presentation! It was a mob scene and I was soo glad I had my press credentials and was whisked right up the elevator without any hassle!
As I got off the elevator there was champagne flowing, bites being passed around and Run Dmc music playing loudly with models everywhere! The 12 piece collection was ok, I can’t really see any girl wearing Simmon’s custom items on the beach, but I can definitely see the collection in magazines,music videos etc. The models avant garde looks were not my style at all but maybe it fits others.Everyone was raving about the model’s shoes provided by Gasoline Glamour too, they were very funky! Angela Simmons was there for moral support and said she was very proud of her sister. Check out all the photos I snapped and congrats to Vanessa Simmons on her new venture. I agree with you, those suits would look great in magazine editorials. I like what Vanessa was wearing, wonder if that will be part of the line. The shoes are way out there, but I get it. It looks like Vanessa was wearing a pair of Olcay Gulsen shoes. Congrats to Vanessa on her new venture.
