I had never seen the movie Candyman from 20 years ago. I heard about how creepy it was but I am just too scary to sit through a film like that. Actor Tony Todd was the lead actor in that movie and from my understanding, he had a special and memorable presence on screen. After meeting the 6’5″ baritone voice actor on August 6, I was thinking to myself, yes I would definitely remember him too.
Tony Todd has a slew of films under his belt on big and small screens. You may remember him in,Tranformers,Lean On Me,Star Trek,The Event on NBC, Chuck and 24. Now he is back for a re-occuring role playing William Bludworth in the latest film, Final Destination 5. I had a chance to catch up with him here in Atlanta, he was a delight to chat with.We talked about his character Bludworth in Final Destination 5 (which I saw last week). The movie was very suspenseful and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time but it was very good! Tony talked to me about raising two teens, his love of cooking, his new projects, being in the business for two decades and more.
He was laid back, calm,cool and full of charm! I had a wonderful time with him! The film Final Destination 5 lures into movie theaters August 12th.
OMG! Girl!
I never even knew this actor’s name….. but the moment I scrolled thru my GoogleReader and saw his face pop up, my heart started to pound a little faster because I instantly recognized him as Candy Man. I’ve seen it multiple times…. and it’s still so frightening. Whew! He was great in that movie – a little convincing! How cool to meet him – and yes, that VOICE! If it wasn’t so scary it’d be pretty sexy.
Didnt know he was in Final Destination. That definitely makes me wanna check it out!
There is no way I could forget his face after seeing him as Candyman. He’s a very convincing actor.
