Stars of the Century recap - Talking With Tami

Yes I was back at the Stars of the Century last night, held at The Jungle in Atlanta. I was front and center to see all the glitz,glamour and entertainment! The opening number was called, Glow of Love performed by the casts. They looked great as they entered the stage. Ms.Sophia the Emcee for the evening, then came out and did her gospel number to Shari Addison. She then did a lil Girl Talk with the audience. Thats when she spotted Oscar winner Monique in the audience. Monique was sitting right behind me, I couldn’t believe it! Ms.Sophia kept the crowd laughing as she introduced each act.

Show Director Niesha Dupree, then came out in a cute dress showing those legs singing to Aretha Franklin. Raquel Lord then joined her for a duet. I liked their matching outfits. Some of the other highlights of the show were R’Darious Black singing Stevie Wonder’s Part time Lover, then Ivey White playing homage to Monique. She first did a stand up routine to Monique’s live comedy show,then a scene from Precious. She really captured Monique and looked just like her! She did an amazing job. Monique went to the stage and started throwing money at her. She then said, “To see somebody study me like that, I’m in awh” .

Stasha Sanchez then hit the stage doing Lil Kim! Loved the blonde wig, it was cute on her. She also does Rhianna really well too. Necole Luv Dupree then came out and did the song, I will always love you from Whitney Houston! Loved the suit, then she ran off stage and came back with white powder under her nose. She was running in the audience and hopping up and down singing. It was a bit funny lol.

Then the party got really started! Jasmine Bonet was dangling from a tree limb singing Tina Marie’s song, Out on a Limb. This was something to see! She did an amazing job and I loved the whole theatrics of it all! She has a great body and the costume was gorg! You had to be there to see her perform this! She shut down the Jungle! Did I need to remind you that these are female impersonators too, I can’t tell!

Raquel looked pretty as she came out to do a song by T. Griffin. A new performer came out which the audience was told, was Monique’s makeup artist. His name was Trina Bohannon and he did a dance number to Beyonce, Put a ring on it. I loved the makeup and yes you can tell he is a true makeup artist, it was fierce up close lol.

Monica then came back to the stage and tipped Trina and gave him a big hug! He really did a great job and the dancers were fab too! I loved their sparkly red makeup, too cute! I’ve actually seen him on the set at The Monique Show, Monique’s makeup always looks great!Later on in the show Ms.Sophia announced that Jasmine Guy will be in full drag and will be performing in the show on November 8th. Jasmine Guy then came to the stage along with Monique during the finale. It was really a great show and I’m glad that I got a chance to go. Thanks so much to Niesha Dupree for making me always feel at home. Also shout out to my boo Chavien for bringing me. It was really great this time! Many years of success with the show!
