What a wonderful time at the private screening of No Good Deed last night with lead actress Taraji P. Henson and film producer Will Packer! First we got a chance to check out the film at Regal Atlantic Station then we headed over to Strip Restaurant for a VIP reception and a lil Q&A session. First off, the film was really, really good. When Will Packer got the script for this thriller film, Taraji P. Henson was the only female he considered for the lead role.
This movie was suppose to have two-white leads. Sony wanted Will to do a comedy with Taraji but he insisted on doing a thriller. They even suggested Taraji with a white male lead but Will didn’t want that either. When he added Idris Elba to the film, then the top execs were interested.
Taraji fell in love with the project because she liked that it was a powerful woman in the leading role, the character Terry was a damsel in distress, it was a relatable story that could actually happen in real life.
Taraji put in 6 days a week to complete this film. Idris had a very rigorous and full schedule and he was set to start production with Mandela.
Taraji also was the executive producer in this movie.
Fight scenes were very difficult and Taraji had never done something so intense before, she found the action scenes very challenging.
John Singleton gave Taraji her very first break and from that she became a break out star.
Will Packer likes to do his first screenings in Atlanta because he feels that our city has a huge influence.
No Good Deeds was filmed in downtown Atlanta.
Taraji has a new project coming out called the Cookie Sensation, look for that in January!
