Adrienne is Fine With Being Considered a D-Lister
Adrienne Houghton: I just want to be brutally honest…. I really enjoy being a D-List celebrity. I’m gonna be hon… I’m a hundred percent.
Tamera Mowry-Housley: (laughs)
Adrienne: I get to live a private life when I want to live a private life. I don’t wanna be Beyoncé in the sense of… not that I think I could be, but I’m just saying, like… I think is it important to recognize where you are and that’s okay.
Adrienne: I like that I can go grocery shopping, have my moño in my hair, and no one bothers me. I live a normal life, Could I strive to do so much more? Sure! Couldn’t we all! But, I like the life that I live and… I don’t have the best body that I could have! Guess what? I’m also not laying on the ground at 4 o’clock in the morning doing six hundred crunches. I choose to have a nice little mediocre body that walks me around just fine, let’s me do what I gotta do. My husband likes it. You get what I’m saying?
Tamera: Yes.
Jeannie Mai: So, so… These are areas that you are comfortable being comfortable with. That makes sense.
Adrienne: Mediocre. I’m gonna be honest, that’s what it is. It’s mediocre.
Jeannie: So, what parts of your life do you not want to be mediocre? Like being a wife.
Adrienne: I don’t want to be mediocre at being a wi… girl, that was on my list. (Reads from her card) “I will not be mediocre when it comes to my personal life.”
Jeannie: That’s what I’m saying.
Adrienne: “I want to be a great wife, a great daughter, a great sister. And when I become a mother, I am going to aim for greatness.”
Tamera: How would you feel if somebody, if somebody called you a mediocre wife… or a mediocre mom?
