THE REAL Celebrated Fri-Yay With A Visit From Logan Browning!

On Friday, May 24, the hosts of The Real ring in Fri-Yay and discuss if they mind being perceived as “D-List” as opposed to not being able to keep their lives private, while at the same time, being sure not to keep their personal lives “mediocre.”  And, should fathers get as much attention as mothers during and immediately after the birth of their babies?  Co-host Tamera Mowry Housley talks about her husband Adam’s doting demeanor on the day their son Aden was born.

Then, co-host Adrienne Houghton recounts the time in her childhood when she innocently cut her own bangs, why she did it, and how she fixed the disastrous ‘do!

Later, actress Logan Browning stops by to talk about why she decided to chop her own luscious locks, what viewers can expect for the third season ofDear White People, and the unconventional way she learned to play the cello for her role in The Perfection.

Adrienne is Fine With Being Considered a D-Lister

Adrienne Houghton: I just want to be brutally honest…. I really enjoy being a D-List celebrity.  I’m gonna be hon… I’m a hundred percent.

Tamera Mowry-Housley: (laughs)

Adrienne: I get to live a private life when I want to live a private life.  I don’t wanna be Beyoncé in the sense of… not that I think I could be, but I’m just saying, like… I think is it important to recognize where you are and that’s okay.

Adrienne: I like that I can go grocery shopping, have my moño in my hair, and no one bothers me.  I live a normal life, Could I strive to do so much more?  Sure! Couldn’t we all!  But, I like the life that I live and… I don’t have the best body that I could have!  Guess what?  I’m also not laying on the ground at 4 o’clock in the morning doing six hundred crunches.  I choose to have a nice little mediocre body that walks me around just fine, let’s me do what I gotta do.  My husband likes it.  You get what I’m saying?

Tamera: Yes.

Jeannie Mai: So, so…  These are areas that you are comfortable being comfortable with.  That makes sense.

Adrienne: Mediocre. I’m gonna be honest, that’s what it is. It’s mediocre.

Jeannie: So, what parts of your life do you not want to be mediocre? Like being a wife.

Adrienne:  I don’t want to be mediocre at being a wi… girl, that was on my list. (Reads from her card) “I will not be mediocre when it comes to my personal life.”

Jeannie: That’s what I’m saying.

Adrienne: “I want to be a great wife, a great daughter, a great sister. And when I become a mother, I am going to aim for greatness.”

Tamera: How would you feel if somebody, if somebody called you a mediocre wife… or a mediocre mom?

Adrienne:  If it was not my husband, or my mother, or my sister or the people’s opinions that I value, I don’t car
