Although this photo is fake, it was photoshopped by someone very creative but boy did this hairstyle look fabulous on the First Lady Michelle Obama! Then my mind got to thinking. I thought to myself, would the “White House” be so accepting of this type of hairstyle? If Michelle Obama was to rock this hairstyle on press rounds or out for a walk with her family or God forbid a State Dinner would this fly? My thoughts are that it would totally NOT be accepted and I could see the critics coming after her for being so ethnic. It’s a shame that in 2012, we are still not able to embrace our culture to the fullest and wear our hair freely without being judged by it. Although I love the carefree hairstyle on this photo, I’m sure it would not come off well, so sad! Whats your thoughts? xoxo

I feel like we need to embrace it regardless of what THEY think because it’s who we are and that’s one of the things that makes us so unique as a race.. That’s why they hate us so much!!! SMH! Of course it is acceptable. No questions asked. I am beyond irrated that people don’t think natural hair somehow not worthy of black tie settings or any other “polished” events.
I rock my natural hair at EVERY event I attend and could care less about what anything thinks.
What a fabulous hairstyle and it would look FANTASTIC on her!! But no, I don’t think it would be considered “acceptable” for her to have it at the White House or at White House functions.

Whatever the First Family does is a no no, they will never be accepted by others simply because they are Black! What is a Blessing is that she looks good natural or straight, that’s the Beauty of our Race we look goood either way! I prefer the natural look but respect my sisters either way they choose to potray themselves, we are a Beautiful Race! I love being different, God makes no mistakes! His Blessings are the ones we should be appreciative of, not man!
There is going to always be negative comments on the Black Woman, the First Lady looks good either way, that’s the beauty of her!
