Season 34 of Dancing with the Stars heated up on November 11 as seven couples hit the ballroom floor, all vying for a spot in the semi-finals. This week’s episode doubled as a special celebration marking 20 years of dazzling mirror ball moments.
The evening had an extra touch of nostalgia with former host Tom Bergeron returning as a guest judge. His presence brought fans (and even the judges) a wave of excitement, with many hoping this wouldn’t be his last time back in the ballroom. Co-host Alfonso Ribeiro noted that the show made history that night, receiving the most votes ever in the competition’s two-decade run.
In no particular order, Alfonso and Julianne Hough announced that Whitney and Mark, Dylan and Daniella, Alix and Val, and Robert and Whitney were safe and heading to the semi-finals. Sadly, fan favorites Andy and Emma were eliminated Julianne affectionately called Andy “the People’s Princess” as they said their goodbyes.
Before the final results, the show took a heartfelt pause to honor former contestants and a judge who have passed away. During rehearsals, Robert received a touching surprise visit from his sister Bindi and her daughter Grace. He shared that he was supposed to be in Brazil last week for the Earthshot Prize alongside Prince William but joked that he had to tell the royal he was “still here,” competing on DWTS.
Tom Bergeron’s return was a true full-circle moment it was his first time back in the ballroom since his 2020 departure. After an electrifying opening number choreographed by Derek Hough, Tom stepped out alongside Alfonso and Julianne to kick off the show. Julianne, stunning in a pink and red satin gown, grew emotional as she welcomed him back, calling him their “honorary guest judge.”
“Hi sweetheart, I am thrilled to be here what a rush,” Tom said with a smile, capturing the magic of the night and reminding everyone why he remains such a beloved part of Dancing with the Stars history.
