Picture it… mid-1980s, me in high school, rushing home to watch my girls!

The Golden Girls was one of my absolute favorite sitcoms back in the day, and honeyyy, it delivered the laughs every single time. I was hooked from the very first episode!

Now let’s talk favorites Blanche Devereaux had my heart, okay?! The fashions, the drama, the stories about her “gentlemen callers” she was everything. And don’t get me started on Sophia Petrillo! That tiny firecracker spoke her mind whenever the spirit moved her. She reminded me so much of my Grandma Nellie pint-sized, feisty, and full of heart.

And sweet Betty White as Rose? Bless it. So sugary sweet and just a little naive. You couldn’t help but love her. Whew… I miss that show. It was funny, heartfelt, a little shady, and now the ladies have all gone on to glory but baby, that sitcom? A certified cult classic. They paved the way for so many shows that followed. And yes, we eventually got a modern-day version with Sex and the City just swap the cheesecake for cosmos!

Now fast-forward to yesterday evening… and picture this: Atlanta, Georgia, and me walking into the fabulous The Golden Girls Kitchen for an exclusive first look. It’s an immersive experience that feels like stepping straight into 6151 Richmond Street!

From the themed menu (yes ma’am, cheesecake was present and accounted for!) to recreated set moments like Blanche’s bedroom and the Rusty Anchor bar, it’s pure nostalgic pop-culture magic exactly what my audience lives for.

And let me tell you, the fans showed up and showed OUT! Muu muus, 80s glam, graphic tees, the whole crew came dressed for the occasion. We enjoyed activations, caricature drawings, photo ops, signature cocktails, tasty bites, and so much more. It was fabulous, fun, and just the right amount of shady.

The exhibit opens today so grab your tickets before they sell out, sugar! Because as Sophia would say… “Fasten your seatbelt, slut puppy.”
