The third group of 11 acts from the 44 total performers takes the stage, and now it’s officially in YOUR hands! Which acts will win America’s votes and earn a coveted spot in the next round? We’ll find out during Wednesday’s (Sept. 2) LIVE results show, when three acts will advance to the semifinals.
And there’s even more on the line: one act from each of the four weeks of competition will receive a Golden Buzzer, sending them straight to the FINALE!
This week, Kenan Thompson takes over Simon’s chair as guest judge and he’s certainly no stranger to the AGT judging panel. Kenan previously stepped in for two weeks during the 2020 Quarterfinals while Simon Cowell recovered from a serious e-bike accident that left him with a back injury.
The guest judge was clearly having a moment with the talent onstage. Mel B declared one singer’s voice “EVERYTHING” while enthusiastically fanning herself, while Howie thanked him for his service and offered some honest feedback, telling Isaac that he believed he had even more range to show. “I don’t think you are showing us everything you have.”
Kenan agreed, praising Isaac’s soulful tone while encouraging him to explore the full ends of his vocal range. Sofia, however, was already impressed by his energy and confidence.
And then came an act that had the judges and the audience completely captivated. Sofia loved the performance, especially the never-before-seen moves, calling the act amazing. Kenan chimed in with his own colorful assessment: “It’s kinda painful to watch!” Howie joked that she was making tick bites desirable, while Mel B felt she had seriously stepped things up since her last appearance. “I’m never playing limbo with you,” she joked.
Of course, while the acts were bringing the drama, Sofia Vergara was bringing the fashion!
For the show, Sofia looked absolutely striking in pretty-in-pink with just the right touch of sparkle. Her Isabella Gown made a glamorous statement with its sleek silhouette and shimmering details. Crafted from bonded crepe, the fitted gown features a dramatic one-shoulder neckline, a diamante tab at the shoulder, elegant tucks across the bust, a defined waist, pencil skirt silhouette and a back slit. A concealed back zip and full lining complete the polished look, while the metallic buckle detail adds an extra dose of modern glamour.
It was the perfect pretty-in-pink, sparkle-meets-sophistication moment for the AGT stage and Sofia once again proved that judging talent and serving fashion can absolutely happen at the same time!
