Gabourey Sidibe Spills on Viral Fashion Moments, Motherhood, Marriage and Halloween Fun!

Actress Gabourey Sidibe stopped by The Jennifer Hudson Show, and let me tell you, she brought all the personality, confidence, and laughs! From her fabulous fashion moments going viral to raising adorable twins and sharing the sweetest story about meeting her husband, Gabourey had plenty of entertaining stories to tell. And I absolutely love a woman who knows who she is, embraces her curves, and isn’t afraid to have a little fun with fashion!

Gabourey Sidibe on Her Viral Fashion and Confidence

First things first, can we talk about Gabourey’s fabulous fashion moments? Her playful poses and stylish ensembles have been making their rounds on social media, and Jennifer Hudson wanted to know the secret behind all that confidence!

Gabourey gave major credit to her talented stylist, Kelly Augustine, who understands her body, her love of color, and her desire to have fun with fashion. But when it comes to those unforgettable poses? That’s all Gabourey!

She hilariously described herself as a deeply unserious person who simply does whatever she wants. She never imagined her posing would become such a viral sensation, but she’s enjoying every minute of it.

Her advice? Do what you want more!

Now that’s a message I can get behind! Ladies, sometimes we spend entirely too much time worrying about what other people think. Wear the dress, strike the pose, take the picture, and enjoy yourself! Fashion should be fun, and Gabourey is proving that confidence is always the best accessory.

A Psychic Predicted Her Husband’s Name!

Now, this next story had me smiling! Gabourey revealed that approximately three years before meeting her husband, Brandon, a psychic actually predicted his name!

At the time, she didn’t think much of it. But years later, along came Brandon, and their love story began unfolding.

Gabourey joked that during their first few dates, she kept saying goodbye as though she would never see him again. Apparently, that little dating strategy worked because the two eventually became a couple!

One of the sweetest moments came when she recalled a thoughtful birthday gift Brandon gave her. He presented her with a four-sided necklace featuring meaningful details about their relationship, including the date they officially became a couple, his nickname for her, and a funny reminder inspired by her best friend Kia.

And yes, his name was engraved on it, too!

Gabourey said that by the time her birthday arrived, she already knew Brandon was her person. The psychic prediction was a fun coincidence, but her heart had already made up its mind.

How romantic is that? I love hearing stories about couples finding their person, especially when there’s a little humor and unexpected magic involved!

Motherhood Times Two: Raising Twins With Big Personalities

The conversation then turned to Gabourey’s adorable twins, and this part was absolutely hilarious!

Gabourey admitted that motherhood is keeping her extremely busy. In fact, she joked that appearing on Jennifer’s show was practically a chance for her to relax!

Her little ones are growing up quickly, and according to their proud mama, they’re incredibly smart and already have very strong opinions.

She laughed about how excited she once was for her children to develop their own personalities. Well, now they’ve got opinions about everything!

Her son, for example, has very specific ideas about which Spider-Man pajamas he wants to wear outside the house. And Gabourey has decided she’s not about to argue with a two-year-old over pajamas!

As a grandmother myself, I had to laugh at that one! These little ones will definitely keep you on your toes, and sometimes you just have to pick your battles!

Halloween Costumes, Werewolves and a Blackberry?

With Halloween right around the corner, Jennifer wanted to know what Gabourey had planned for her twins.

Gabourey shared that she’s always loved Halloween and enjoys getting creative with family costumes.

During the twins’ first Halloween, they dressed as Elmo and Cookie Monster. The following year, the family embraced a Flintstones theme, although Gabourey was away directing a movie in Atlanta.

But this year is extra special because the twins are finally old enough to choose their own costumes!

Her daughter originally wanted to dress as a witch and a cat but has since decided she’d rather be a werewolf.

Her son? Well, he initially wanted to dress as a blackberry. Yes, the actual fruit!

I nearly fell out laughing at that one!

Now he’s considering becoming a werewolf like his sister, although Gabourey revealed that he’s also obsessed with Spider-Man. She might even surprise him with a superhero costume.

With all those changing opinions, the family may end up celebrating Halloween in several different outfits!

Gabourey also reminisced about making her own costumes as a child. One particularly creative look involved dressing as half man and half woman, complete with a skirt sewn to pants, two different hairstyles, and a drawn-on mustache.

Talk about imagination!

Gabourey Sidibe Returns to American Horror Story

Gabourey’s visit also highlighted her return to the American Horror Story universe for Season 13.

Fans of the franchise know that Gabourey has delivered memorable performances over the years, particularly as the beloved witch Queenie in American Horror Story: Coven.

The actress also shared her admiration for fellow American Horror Story stars Angela Bassett and Sarah Paulson, adding another fun layer to the conversation about the show’s unforgettable cast of witches.

I have always loved seeing powerful actresses come together on screen, and that cast certainly knows how to bring the drama, glamour, and a little supernatural mischief!

Tami’s Take: Confidence Looks Good on Everybody!

What I enjoyed most about Gabourey’s interview wasn’t just the fashion or the funny parenting stories. It was her refreshing attitude toward life.

She’s enjoying her marriage, embracing motherhood, having fun with her wardrobe, and refusing to take herself too seriously.

And isn’t that what life should be about?

As someone who loves getting dressed up, experimenting with fashion, and finding little reasons to celebrate, I completely understand her approach. You don’t need a special occasion to look fabulous, and you certainly don’t need anyone’s permission to feel beautiful!

I also appreciate how openly she celebrates her body and works with a stylist who understands that fashion is about expressing personality, not hiding it.

My favorite takeaway? Stop waiting for permission to be fabulous. Wear what makes you happy, pose however you like, and enjoy the moment!

Gabourey Sidibe is living proof that confidence, a sense of humor, and a little sparkle can go a very long way!

What do you think of Gabourey’s viral fashion poses? And would you ever attempt to make a blackberry Halloween costume? Let me know in the comments!
