Today was such a magical day at the office, dolls! We celebrated our annual Halloween costume contest, and you already know I couldn’t let the occasion pass without adding a little sparkle, whimsy, and Disney princess magic!
This year, I decided to channel one of my absolute favorite Disney princesses, Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog! But instead of going with a traditional princess gown, I wanted to create something a little more sophisticated, fashionable, and office-appropriate.
Think Princess Tiana meets corporate chic, with a sprinkle of New Orleans charm, a dash of fairytale elegance, and just enough sparkle to make the day feel enchanting! I put together a mood board with all the colors from the movie and that totally inspired me.
And let me tell you, the finished look turned out even better than I imagined!
Bringing a Little Princess and the Frog Magic to the Office!
If you’ve been following along, you already know that my office is completely decked out in The Princess and the Frogdécor!
It’s my own little enchanted corner of the bayou, filled with touches inspired by Princess Tiana’s magical world.
So naturally, when everyone at work started guessing what I would dress up as for Halloween, the general consensus was that I would be some sort of Disney princess.
And guess what? They were absolutely right! Lol!
I mean, was there ever really any doubt?
I’ve always adored Princess Tiana because she’s beautiful, ambitious, hardworking, and determined to make her dreams come true. She’s a princess who believes in putting in the work while keeping a little magic in her heart.
And honestly, I can relate to that!
Since I spend my days in a professional office environment, I wanted my costume to be playful and festive without looking like I was headed to a costume parade.
The challenge was finding the perfect balance between business attire and fairytale fantasy!
The Princess Tiana Outfit That Almost Didn’t Happen!
Now, here’s where my little fashion adventure began!
Originally, I had my heart set on wearing the prettiest green swing dress. It was absolutely adorable, super comfortable, and even had pockets!
And dolls, you know how much we love a dress with pockets!
I was completely convinced that this would be my Halloween outfit.
But then, as I started thinking about my look, I suddenly remembered something tucked away in my closet.
A beautiful skirt set that I had purchased over the summer and never got around to wearing!
Don’t you just love when you rediscover something fabulous in your own wardrobe?
I pulled it out, took one look, and immediately thought, “Yep, this is the one!”
It was pretty, comfortable, feminine, and perfect for sitting at my desk throughout the workday.
Because let’s be clear, even princesses have responsibilities! Lol!
And just like that, my enchanted office look started coming together.
Pearls, Gold Mary Janes, and a Sparkling Tiara!
Once I settled on my outfit, it was time for the really fun part: accessorizing!
And you already know that accessories are where I love to have a little fun!
I already owned my adorable Princess Tiana cardigan, which was the perfect finishing touch to bring the whole Disney-inspired look together.
Then I found the cutest pair of gold Mary Jane shoes from Nordstrom, embellished with delicate pearls and sweet little bows.
Oh my goodness, dolls, they were absolutely precious!
You know I have such a soft spot for pearls, bows, and anything that feels romantic and girly, so these shoes were practically calling my name!
They added just the right amount of princess sparkle while still being polished enough for the office.
Next, I went shopping in my own jewelry box!
I already had a sparkling tiara, a pretty necklace, and earrings that complemented the look beautifully.
And of course, what would Princess Tiana be without her little frog prince?
I added an adorable frog that I had thrifted, and suddenly the whole outfit came to life!
I loved that I was able to combine pieces I already owned with a few special touches to create something unique.
Who says you have to spend a fortune to look like royalty?
Sometimes the best fashion magic happens right inside your own closet!
My Daughter Added the Final Touch of Fairytale Glam!
Now, I have to give a very special shoutout to my beautiful daughter, Tyra, because she helped make this look extra special!
She styled my hair for the occasion, and I absolutely loved how everything came together.
Thank you, Tyra! You’re the best!
There’s something so sweet about having your daughter help you get all dolled up for a special occasion.
Between my hair, sparkling accessories, pretty shoes, and little frog prince, I felt like I had stepped right out of my own enchanted fairytale!
All I needed was a little jazz music playing in the background and a magical New Orleans bayou!
Did My Princess Tiana Costume Win the Office Halloween Contest?
Well, dolls, that’s the million-dollar question! Lol!
Our office held its annual Halloween costume contest today, and employees will be voting for their favorite looks.
We won’t find out who wins until next week, so the suspense is officially on!
I’m not even sure what the prize is, but honestly, that’s not why I participated.
I just thought it would be fun to dress up, get creative, and bring a little happiness to the workplace.
And judging by everyone’s reactions, my Princess Tiana-inspired outfit was a huge hit!
Several of my coworkers told me that I should win, which was so sweet of them!
Now, I don’t know about all that, but I certainly appreciate the love! Lol!
Win or lose, I had the best time putting this outfit together and sharing a little Disney magic with everyone.
Sometimes it’s the simple things that make an ordinary workday feel extraordinary!
Tami’s Take: Every Girl Deserves a Little Princess Magic!
One thing about me, dolls, is that I’ll never be too grown to enjoy a little fairytale magic!
I love dressing up, playing with fashion, and finding creative ways to express my personality, even in a corporate setting.
And that’s what made this Halloween look so much fun!
I didn’t need a giant ball gown or a full theatrical costume to feel like Princess Tiana.
All it took was a pretty outfit, a few sparkling accessories, some pearls, a little frog prince, and a whole lot of imagination!
What I love most about Tiana is that she’s not just a princess waiting for her dreams to come true. She’s a hardworking woman with goals, determination, and a vision for her future.
And isn’t that such a beautiful message?
You can work hard, chase your dreams, and still make room for a little magic along the way!
I also loved being able to put together an outfit that was comfortable enough to wear all day while still feeling feminine, festive, and fabulous.
That’s my kind of Halloween fashion!
And if there’s one thing this experience reminded me of, it’s that you should never stop doing the little things that bring you joy.
Whether it’s dressing up for an office contest, wearing a sparkling tiara just because, or embracing your inner Disney princess, life is simply more fun when you allow yourself to be a little whimsical!
