French actress and rising action icon Pom Klementieff has officially joined the growing ranks of stars embracing John Galliano’s visionary work at Maison Margiela.
Stepping into the spotlight for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One was a dream realized for Klementieff, who has long admired the franchise’s high standard of cinematic excellence. Best known for her role as Mantis in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series, she revealed that Mission: Impossible was always the ultimate goal.
“I think it’s the best of the genre—it’s more than just an action film,” she shared. “It’s art. The level of craftsmanship in every aspect of these movies is mind-blowing.”
Well before her Marvel debut, Klementieff was deep in martial arts training, often labeling her sessions as “Mission: Impossible” prep, even before a role was on the horizon. “I was manifesting the whole time,” she said. “I’d think, ‘Maybe one day I’ll get to fight Tom [Cruise].’”
Manifestation met opportunity when she was cast as Paris, the intense and enigmatic villain in the franchise’s seventh installment. Her portrayal—feral, focused, and slightly unhinged—was partly inspired by the wild energy of a bird in flight, adding a unique dimension to the film’s already electrifying narrative.
Pom Klementieff turned heads at the Japan premiere of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, stepping out in a daring plastic apron dress from John Galliano’s Spring 2018 artisanal collection for Maison Margiela. The avant-garde creation featured a lace bra top and crimson fabric panels, artfully veiled beneath a layer of sheer PVC. Embracing the integrity of the original design, Klementieff wore the archival piece sans undergarments, letting the dress speak for itself. She elevated the look with a bold red lip, sleekly styled hair, and minimalist white stilettos. See more inside..
