Pinky Review: The Lawrence

One thing that I love about being a transplant to Atlanta is the numerous amounts of entrepreneurs that I run into! That would be the case with this 2-year old restaurant located in Midtown called, The Lawrence. It’s a quant lil place located right on Juniper st. and you can’t miss it. With the summer time heat in full effect, this is a nice and friendly place that you may want to stop in to cool off, kick back, relax, get a nice refreshing cocktail, order a meal and enjoy the cozy atmosphere!

Dootie and newlywed Rosalyn Daniels

My girlfriend Rosalyn got married a few weeks ago and I’m sure you all seen all the lovely pictures of her and her boo Harvey’s wedding pics on my blog. Well come to find out, Harvey Daniels III Esq is also one-third owner of this posh lil spot along with his cousin and a close friend Dante Flanigan & Darren Carr. They took ownership of this establishment about two years ago and it’s been going strong ever since. Harvey & Rosalyn invited us out to try it. When we entered the doors, I got a very great feeling about this place. It kinda reminds you of a preppy crowd, full of blossoming young entrepreneurs, lawyers, doctors and more! What a very cool and mixed crowd but hey, downtown Atlanta is full of colleges, so that was pretty much the crowd inside.

The place was packed and the pretty bartender was cranking out all sorts of fun and refreshing drinks. They bought me a round of cocktails but not being a true drinker, I sipped lightly and passed them along but I did like the signature cocktail called, Lady Lavender! You guys have to try it, it will cool you right off, yes! The appetizers started arriving and we munched on spicy baby back ribs, pickles, fried cheeseballs, meat & cheese platers, so much stuff, I was stuffed like a turkey, but everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. The proportions were good and I could share with my daughter, who also enjoyed mostly everything she tried. For the entree, I ordered up the salmon with hash and bacon plus a side of potatoes and green beans. It was good and hearty! Next up was dessert my fav!

My daughter ordered the Peach Sconut Shortcake and wouldn’t share any of it, so I had to order another one and we also tried the Strawberry Jalapeño Sorbet, both were sinfully delightful! I did want to be greedy and order one more for the road! The Peach Sconut reminds you of a sconce and donut mixed together with a creme sauce and the peaches were tangy and delish! If you visit, you have to try it, omg!

Everything was pretty much delicious and we stayed there till like 11pm. We enjoyed the conversation and people just kept coming in lol. They have great hours, open for lunch Thur & Fri 11-2pm, Dinner Sun-Thur 5:30pm-10:30pm, Fri & Sat 5:30pm- 11;30pm and they also give back on Tuesdays with a program called, Tuesday Relief. Your dollars from your meal goes to a charity group or organization on that day, cool beans! Hey check out The Lawrence if you’re in town or if you plan on visiting Atlanta, stop by and tell em I sent yah! Till next time! xoxo
