Abbott Elementary star Quinta Brunson lit up the Saturday Night Live stage for her second time hosting on May 3, and she kicked things off with a bang. In her opening monologue, she beamed about being back on the iconic show, joking, “I’m living proof that you can do anything you set your mind to—even if people literally look down on you!”
“Whether it’s because of where you’re from or because you’re 4’11”—yep, I’m short!” she said with a grin. “They even tried to cast me as one of the kids on Abbott Elementary… and I wrote the show!”
Brunson embraced her fun-sized status, rallying all the short kings and queens out there: “I love being short, and I want my fellow shorties to know the sky’s the limit. So tonight, this one’s for us!” she declared, launching into a hilarious, high-energy song celebrating height-challenged greatness.
With shoutouts to pint-sized powerhouses like Simone Biles, Kendrick Lamar, and Tom Holland, the tune took an even more fun turn when pop star Sabrina Carpenter jumped in. The two bonded over their love of short ribs and short stories, harmonizing about the joys of being fun-sized. By the grand finale, they were joined by Marcello Hernandez and Dwyane Wade, belting out:
“It’s how we like our movies, and how we like our margins, We’ve been the same height since kindergarten!Life’s just better when you’re fun size!” See more inside…
