Sheryl Lee Ralph opened up about the heartfelt speech she delivered while receiving the Broadcasting & Cable Humanitarian Award, sharing, “When you write these things and step in front of a large audience, it’s about finding the right words to truly connect with people where they are. I put a lot of thought into what I say because this is a time when we all need to show up as our best selves.”
The Emmy-winning actress also dished on the upcoming Season 5 of ABC’s Abbott Elementary, saying, “I love that I’m part of a show where I can talk about education in a meaningful way — one that celebrates educators as the heart of the story, not the punchline. And I’ll keep reminding everyone: they deserve to be paid more!”
Sheryl also revealed a fun behind-the-scenes moment from filming: “We shot at the baseball stadium in Philadelphia, and it was incredible — people had no idea we were actually filming! It turned out to be what I believe will be a legendary game because Kyle Schwarber came out with the ‘Abbott effect’ and hit four home runs!” See more inside…
