Anne Hathaway Talks “The Devil Wears Prada 2”

Anne Hathaway is entering a major career moment, revealing she has five films on the horizon and, surprisingly, her first day off in years is finally within reach.

“Next Tuesday is my first day off,” she shared. “So I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen. I’ve been telling myself I’m fine it’s all been an amazing ride but I haven’t had the space to really test that. I guess I’ll find out next Tuesday who I actually am and where I am.”

While discussing The Devil Wears Prada 2, Hathaway reflected on why the sequel took nearly two decades to come together. “I wasn’t in a rush to make something that wouldn’t live up to what it was,” she explained. “We loved making it, but what it became that’s because of the audience.”

Revisiting her beloved character Andy Sachs, Hathaway hinted at a new chapter: after walking away from Runway and chasing integrity over influence, Andy builds a respected career as a globe-trotting, award-winning journalist only to face an unexpected twist just as she’s being honored.

She also touched on the undeniable chemistry between herself and Emily Blunt, teasing a subtle, platonic love story between their characters that fans have long adored.

Looking back, Hathaway noted the cultural timing of the original film’s release just before the smartphone era and how much the world has shifted since. Now, with fashion, media, and identity constantly evolving, she believes the sequel arrives at the perfect moment to revisit these iconic characters through a modern lens.
