Captain Planet cartoon turned 20 this year and media mogul Ted Turner and his friends threw a big birthday party at the Georgia Aquarium! Their foundation is the greatest non profit organization that also educates and informs us about the environment!

Ted Turner brings awareness to such issues as climate change, water conservation, energy, pollution, animal and wildlife treatment, resource depletion, ozone depletion, logging and mining, to name a few. The original action-packed episode aired on 185 stations nationwide and in more than 50 countries spanning across nearly every continent. The series broke new ground by successfully merging children’s educational programming and entertainment programming; “edu-tainment” was born.

In attendance I saw, LeVar Burton, Ed Bagley, Sheree Whitfield, Phaedra Parks and her husband Appollo, Sanjay Gupta, Chris Tucker, Cynthia Parker and more socialites and activists.
Dr. Bernice King
I got a chance to finally meet Phaedra Parks and she was just as feisty as she is on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. We talked about her size 2 frame now and the joys of motherhood. She said she has been exercising like crazy and doing a great workout routine.
I also chatted with Actor Ed Bagley and he said he has a new show coming out called, Living with Ed. His beautiful wife Actress Rachelle Carson- Bagley says she will be Co-starring in the reality show too.
We were seated at table 63 and the table design was very pretty. I sat with Sheree and her friend. Dr. Bernice King said a prayer of the night and blessed the food. The dinner was very good and I loved the dessert! Ron Clark Academy performed and then the auction began. I have never been to a live auction where they were bidding 20,000 and up! NOTHING went under $20,000! I almost fainted when someone bided $50,000 and I think that was for a One Night Only with Legendary Barbra Steisand. The Lap of Luxury private villa for 8 guests at the Viceroy in Anguilla, West Indies may have been that bid too I couldn’t really hear.

Ludacris auction item, Party like a Rockstar, where you could bowl with 20 guests and Ludacris sold for $20,000. The whole night was very exciting to watch and I want to thank Amanda Leesburg for the personal invite! It was definitely a great event for a great cause! Happy Birthday Captain Planet! xoxo
