What a great time I had hanging out with fellow blogger buddy Necole Bitchie on Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles! We go waaay back when she use to live here in Atlanta. We all started our blogs around the same time and we still send each other info and pics from time to time. Necole doesn’t know it but she is a huge inspiration to me and I love how she has grown soo much over the years!
She invited me to her Beauty Lounge event in Los Angeles and we got to chat about social media, our blogs and so much more stuff. She told me that she is proud of how I have grown too over the years and how I blog about whatever I want to lol. Which she admires because she says sometimes it can be stressful trying to keep up with the demands of pr reps, mktg companies, labels and more. I feel her on that but I told her I don’t follow the norm or the rules. That’s why I don’t write about too much gossip on my site because I know the drama that comes with that territory lol. I know that I can not compete with gossip sites but I still do ok. I just never wanted my site to be all about drama and gossip…geesh!

She told me how hard it is to keep up with hot topics and celebrity scoop. Plus how she has made herself a brand now. She has launched a new beauty & lifestyle brand called xoNecole too, you can find out about that on her site. She gave me the tea on her legal woes and hiring staff! She also let me know that she still owns 100% of her site because a lot of people think she sold it, which is not true. So for those of you out there that are newbies in the blogging world, please use us for an example, have integrity and do a great job that I know you will! It’s fun but it’s a lot of hard work! So many of my blogger buddies have fallen by the wayside because they have no idea how much it entails! Yes, blogging looks fun till you have to edit 1000’s of photos, write posts, respond to 100’s of emails daily, work with demanding brands, post accurately and in a timely manner, cover events etc! It ain’t no joke bookies! I’m glad that Necole still has the passion and drive to keep going and I wish her the very best! We blogger sistas have to stick together!
