Sofía Vergara made history as the first Judge to hit her Golden Buzzer during America’s Got Talent Season 20’s first round of Live Quarterfinals. The performance came courtesy of Steve Ladson, whose funky and upbeat anthem “Boots Like Mine” had the entire crowd on their feet. With its infectious hook—“Ain’t nobody got boots like mine, square toe leather crocodile, top of the line” the energy in the theater was undeniable. By the song’s end, every audience member was standing except Sofía, who stayed glued to her judge’s chair for a very good reason.
“Steve, I mean, you are a superstar,” she told him, still captivated by his talent (so much so that fellow Judge Mel B. once teased her about having a crush on him). “But to be honest, I didn’t like this song…” she paused before adding with a grin, “…I loved it!” She then slammed the Live Golden Buzzer, sending Ladson straight to the Season 20 Finals.
For the big moment, Sofía looked radiant in Rebecca Vallance’s Skyla gown—a stunning strapless column dress featuring a sweetheart neckline, delicate cowl detailing, a corseted waist, and a daring high slit. The look was equal parts timeless and glamorous, perfect for everything from a chic bridal shower to a sophisticated dinner party—or, of course, a Golden Buzzer-worthy night on live television.
