Now this is truly magic! Disney’s new Ariel, Halle Bailey, and the original mermaid princess, Jodi Benson, met at ‘The Little Mermaid‘ premiere in LA. how cool is this! Both lovely ladies saw each other on the blue carpet and shared a hug and posed for a few quick pictures. I’m sure you guys are aware by now or you have been under a rock that Bailey stars as the new Ariel Disney Princess in the upcoming live-action film, which is headed to theaters on May 26th. Benson voiced Ariel in the original 1989 feature and it earned two Oscars for best original song and best original score.
Bailey is making history as the first Black actress to play Ariel. She was casted in the role in July 2019. I’m so proud of her and I know she will do an amazing job in this most anticipated movie of the summer! I get to see it next week and I’m too excited! See more inside….
