Olandria is officially having the moment! The content creator and rising star recently flew into Los Angeles for her very first BET Awards experience, and this wasn’t just about walking the red carpet. She was also invited to be part of the actual show!
Naturally, the big weekend came with plenty of excitement, nerves, glam, fashion and a little bit of last-minute chaos.
Before the show, Olandria met with her styling team to try on an incredible lineup of designer looks. From bold colors and dramatic gowns to runway-ready pieces shipped from around the world, there were plenty of options. But two looks quickly rose to the top: a vibrant, sexy yellow custom gown for the red carpet and a dramatic second outfit for her special appearance during the show.
“I’m just excited about where my life is taking me and how I’m elevating every single time I step out,” she shared.
Although Anissa admitted she was nervous because she hadn’t been on a red carpet in over a month, she was ready to step back into her element. And when it came time for the carpet? Baby, she ate!
The weekend became even more special when Anissa revealed that BET had written her into the production at the last minute because they specifically wanted her to be part of the show.
For someone who grew up watching the BET Awards with her family, the experience felt incredibly full circle.
“I literally grew up watching the BET Awards with my mother,” she explained. “I never thought I would actually be able to attend one, much less actually be featured in a BET Award show.”
From rehearsals and backstage moments to quick outfit changes and a little red-carpet magic, Anissa took viewers along for the entire journey. She also made sure to give love to her hardworking team, sharing how grateful she is to have people around her who are just as passionate about her success as she is.
“My entire career feels like a passion project to everyone around me,” she said emotionally. “It really feels good when you have people around you wanting you to win just as bad as you want to win.”
After the show, Anissa celebrated her first BET Awards experience with friends and headed out for a night of fun before catching an early flight home.
Her final verdict?
First BET Awards: 10 out of 10!
And judging by how things are going, something tells us this is only the beginning for Anissa. From the red carpet to becoming part of the show itself, she is clearly elevating and we love to see it!
