Pinky Review: Pollo Tropical (Mall Of Georgia)

pollo tropical

Yesterday afternoon, I was invited out to lunch at a new restaurant that opened up right by me at Mall of Georgia. It’s called, Pollo Tropical, have you guys heard of it? Have you eaten there? I never heard of it but have seen the construction going on since last year and now its finally open. I took my neighbor with me and we headed that way, check out my pinky review inside plus they are having a grand opening in Snellville, Ga today!

Pinky Review: When we walked in, it reminded me of a Caribbean-inspired restaurant because of the decor, music and atmosphere. I’ve been to Jamaica a few times, so that was the vibe I picked up. This is a chain restaurant and it’s Pollo Tropicals 9th Atlanta-area location and there is another opening today in Snellville, Ga.

My friend and I looked over the menu which was filled with tropical salads, ribs, chicken, veggie dishes and so much more. I decided on the ribs, green beans, corn soufflé and my friend Demar ordered the chicken bowl. The proportions were pretty good and I liked the presentation.

We sat down and said our grace and dived right in. We both loved the food and it was very tasty. I liked the sauce on the ribs but they were a bit tough to chew and the green beans needed just a bit more seasoning. Other than that, not a bad meal at all. Say that you wanted to head on over to lunch at Pollo Tropical and treat a co-worker. My meal ran about $7 and my friend’s chicken bowl was around $6, add drinks, it would cost you around $20.

The tables were clean, the staff was very friendly and you do not tip in their restaurant, its a no, no! You eat off of real plates and they have silverware. So its a mix between fine dining and a fast food joint all at the same time lol. You also leave your plates on the table and the staff comes to clean up after you. I liked the restaurant, the food and the experience and will be back! My favorite item that I got to try was the Caribbean Corn Soufflé! Soo good, till next time! xoxo
