Singer Jon B. Talks 17-Year Marriage & New Music After 10-Year Hiatus

On today’s special Valentine’s Day edition of “Tamron Hall,” the show continued the “Week of Love,” welcoming renowned R&B artist Jon B., who is releasing his first new album, “Waiting On You,” in over a decade. Before serenading the Tam Fam with a performance of the titular track, the multifaceted musician shared the key to success in his 17-year marriage to Danette Jackson: communication.

In addition to the special performance, Tamron asked the entire audience to be her Valentine, treating them with an abundance of themed giveaways from Rose Box NYC, Chocolove, Kayali, Masterclass, Tom Dixon, Monika Blunder Beauty and more. See more inside and a video clip…

Jon B. on why communication is so important in his marriage:

“I think that when you’re paying attention to each other’s feelings and how you really feel, I think you want the other person to be comfortable, so you’re going to go out of your way to make sure you do whatever that is to make that person comfortable.”

Jon B. on releasing new music after 10 years:

“I love fitting into people’s lives however I can…I’ve been so blessed to have the type of music that people relate to. You know, people come up to me all the time and say, ‘Man, we got married to your song’…and there are so many other countless memories that I’ve been told by my fans. I’m just so appreciative that the music has lasted this long.” He continued, “It’s been a long time. It’s so good to be back too. I’m so glad to be back and back with my boy Tank, featured on the record as well.”
