I was doing my daily chores yesterday morning when I heard some back and forth chatter going on. I looked up and it was Omarosa sitting there bickering with Bethenny on my tv. Both ladies are very strong-willed and opinionated, so I sat down to hear what was all the fuss about…
“It’s different for you and I. I am an African-American woman. You get to walk around and be mediocre and you still get rewarded with things.”
This is a thing Omarosa said to Bethenny Frankel on Bethenny’s own TV show yesterday. The two then had a mature discussion about race and privilege in the media.
It all started when Bethenny appeared on The View in 2010 and she had some harsh words about Omarosa and said she has way more things going on than her and that she didn’t have a “brand”. On the show Omarosa called her out on it and Bethenny told Omarosa she never said that and if she did, she would give her $10,000. The fact checkers scurried off to find the transcripts and ofcourse Omarosa was right. It got really heated after that. I’ve known through the years that these two didn’t get along so I was confused why Bethenny would have her on? I quickly figured it all out though and that would be “ratings” and they both make for great tv! Everyone and their mama is talking about it now, genius!
TWT TEA: I was just talking to a very good friend of mine that blogs and her name is Claire from Fashion Bomb Daily. We had lunch the other day and discussed how we work so hard with our blogs but STILL do not get the recognition or opportunities like our white counterparts. If I was younger, lighter and skinnier, I would definitely be doing way more than what you guys see and basically that is just the way of the world. That’s what Omarosa was trying to tell Bethenny and I get her point exactly. Another thing is Betheny is Jewish and who runs/owns media? Thats right kiddos Jews. Then on the other hand, I do see Bethenny’s point that Omarosa does not have a brand and is just known for being a B.I.T.C.H. I have had the pleasure of being around her a few times and although she is pleasant, I can see her ready to go off in two minutes flat. She lived up to her name and reputation on the show yesterday and both had valid points, I just think that Omarosa could have said what she wanted to say and delivered it a bit more respectful without all the shade. Bethenny: I meant what I said. You do have a career. I invited you here because you know — I don’t think that you have a brand. I think that you’re infamous. I’m on the show because I want to give a point of view. I don’t think you have a brand–
Omarosa: Honey, you made cupcakes. I worked in the White House. Get a grip.
Bethenny: What’s your brand?
Omarosa: I’m a strong businesswoman who celebrates in being smart — and there is a brand in being smart.
Bethenny: Your brand is smart? So Omarosa’s brand is being smart. Is that in your business plan?
Omarosa: Oh, absolutely. Hear this out, you’re entitled to your opinion, but you’re not entitled to your own facts. I have an accomplished career.
Bethenny: What is it? What is your business?
Omarosa: I teach young people and I hope that the young people don’t get discouraged from watching two women who have an opportunity to put things behind them. We have a chance to turn this thing around.
Bethenny: No we don’t.
