Wardrobe Breakdown: Fantasia Polka Dot Gown At The Color Purple Premiere In Los Angeles

I absolutely LOVED Fantasia Barrino‘s red carpet look for the premiere of The Color Purple that took place in Los Angeles last night! Most of the co-stars were dressed in purple silhouettes but Fantasia wanted to pop out with a lil something extra lol!

Fantasia plays Ms.Celie in her feature film debut while Danielle Brooks plays Sofia, the role originated on screen by Oprah Winfrey in 1985 film by Steven Spielberg. “The Color Purple” follows the story of two Black American teenage sisters, Celie and Nettie, in the American south during the early 1900s. Celie embarks on a journey to find her freedom after she and Nettie are separated by the men in their lives and must overcome years of abuse. Oprah is back though and producing this second film adaption as well. Award-Winning Author of the Color Purple, Alice Walker was in the house too!

For the carpet, Fantasia wore a custom black & white polka dot gown by a fashion designer that said he couldn’t miss the moment of creating something for such a moment! I don’t blame him and this moment was pure magic! I loved the styling by friend Daniel Hawkins that has been giving the world LOOKS from Fantasia ever since the press tour started, job well done! See more photos inside and the fashion designer that made this piece!
