Last night soulful singer Aretha Franklin shut down the Kennedy Center Honors that was televised. I didn’t watch the show but saw the video this afternoon and I immediately started cracking up because Aretha gives zero f*cks about what people think about her! She came on stage with a full-length mink coat dragging the stage and slayed everybody lol.
Then mid way through the song, she had the nerve to drop her fur and belt out the end of the song! Her performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman brought the Obamas to their feet and Barack even shed a tear. After her song, she received a standing ovation. I remember meeting and interviewing Ms.Franklin here in Atlanta at the Annual Trumpet Awards, she was a hoot and too funny! Check out the video clip inside…
