‘Be Bold’ Dinner Series Honoring Janet Jackson (Presented by Coca-Cola)

Over the weekend, Janet Jackson was celebrated amongst longtime friends and peers at The #BeBold Dinner in an intimate plush setting located inside of the Four Seasons New Orleans. The Be Bold Series presented by Coca-Cola- Powered by AT&T’s Dream in Black honors Women of Color who have pioneered and led the culture in a BOLD and unapologetic way. Celebrating the 50-year career & legacy of the global icon & living legend, Janet was showered with love throughout the evening as personal stories were shared by Reverend Al Sharpton, MC Lyte, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Yvette Nicole Brown. The night even included a “Good Times” Reunion with actress Bern Nadette Stanis – who played Thelma in the popular 70’s CBS Sitcom.

A party with a purpose, Event Partners Coca-Cola’s If Not For My Girls, AT&T Dream In Black, Essence’ Girls United and the Propel Center were all campaigns and initiatives spotlighted during the celebration. Janet’s Rhythm Nation Scholarship Fund in partnership with the United Negro College Fund was also presented with a $100,000 donation and commitment from Sponsors.

Janet and friends danced all night to sounds by DJ Aktive which was captured with the now viral clip of her swag-surfing and leading the electric slide- flooding social media. Other guests included Debbie Allen, DJ D-Nice, Marsai Martin, Actress Sidra Smith, Angelica Ross, and more…
