The 2026 MTV VMAs Are Happening NOW And the Red Carpet Is Bringing the Glam!

The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards are officially underway tonight, Sunday, September 27, and music’s biggest stars are arriving in Los Angeles ready to celebrate another unforgettable year of music, creativity and, of course, fashion!Hosted by Snoop Dogg, tonight’s ceremony is taking place live from the Peacock Theater and airing on CBS, with a simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+.

And the excitement started well before the first Moon Person was handed out the VMAs red carpet has already been serving plenty of fashion moments! Among the stars making an entrance are Teyana Taylor, Chlöe Bailey, Sienna Spiro, RAYE, Bebe Rexha, Shaboozey, FLO, Lauren Jauregui and more. Best Dressed on the Red Carpet

The fashion is definitely giving us something to talk about! Teyana Taylor turned heads in a dramatic sheer black gown with feather detailing, bringing major gothic-glamour energy to the carpet.

Chlöe Bailey also made a statement in an intricate, embellished gown featuring eye-catching cutouts and ornate detailing, while Sienna Spiro stepped out in an elegant fitted gown complete with intricate embellishments and a flowing train.

RAYE shimmered in a beautifully beaded gown, while the red carpet also featured plenty of bold, playful and fashion-forward moments from stars including Bebe Rexha, FLO, JoJo, Chanel West Coast and Lauren Jauregui.

What’s Happening Inside

The night is packed with major moments. Madonna is opening the show, marking her first VMAs performance in more than two decades. Nirvana is receiving the Video Vanguard Award, while Taylor Swift is being honored with the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors. Swift is also set to premiere her new “Patient Zero” music video, directed by Swift and starring Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson.

The performance lineup includes GENERATION, Gunna, Kacey Musgraves, LISA, Madonna, RAYE, Shaboozey, SIENNA SPIRO, SOMBR, Teddy Swims and Yung Lean, along with surprise guests. Musgraves will also honor Dolly Parton with a special tribute, while RAYE, SOMBR and Teddy Swims will pay tribute to George Michael.
